The reason I joined the Navy was simply to get my life moving. I quickly realized how much I enjoy being active duty. I have been humbled in my service seeing everything from an island that was devastated by a Tsunami in 2005, to seeing Hong Kong transform itself on Christmas Eve simply because a Navy ship was in port. I have since stayed in to support my family and continue to do a job that I enjoy doing. I also come from a military family so pride in my country and in the Navy is immense.
